Juniper Networks has roped in city-based Isilica Networks Private Limited to conduct training courses on Juniper Networks M- and T-series routing platforms.

Ju niper's solutions cater to the complex security and performance requirements of the mission-critical networks on IP (internet protocol) platforms.

Isilica will be Juniper Networks authorised education centre (JNAEC) India. Paul McNulty, director (customer services) of Juniper for Asia-Pacific region and Sriram Syamala, CEO of Isilica, signed an agreement to this effect on Wednesday.

Addressing a press conference on the occasion, McNulty said that the growing networking industry in the country was fuelling the demand for qualified workforce for the internet protocol-driven industry.

Through the partnership with Isilica, Juniper hopes to create a talent base in the country for offering superior networking and security solutions based on a wide product portfolio of Juniper Networks, he said.

Syamala said that Isilica had set up a state-of-the-art research and training lab at a cost of half-a-million dollars for offering introductory-intermediate courses which help trainees undergo associate-level certification programme of Juniper.

The programmes are of a duration of five days with hand-on-the-lab training. The institute would soon be launching courses to help prepare students for Juniper specialist certification. Juniper-authorised instructors will conduct the courses. The centre would initially offer courses in Hyderabad and later expand its operations to seven major cities in the country, he said.

According to Syamala, there was a growing demand for quality education in the IP infrastructure in the country, as businesses were increasingly becoming aware of the importance of the high-performance IP networks. Isilica is also planning to offer training courses for the Juniper Professional certification in the near future, he said.

Giridhar Java, country manager (India & Saarc) of Juniper Networks, said that the Hyderabad centre was being shifted to the Bangalore centre for integrating the company's operations. The 35 professionals based in Hyderabad would be soon moving to the Bangalore centre, taking the total headcount to 130, he said. Juniper has four R&D centres " two in the US and one each in Canada and India.
