Kannelite to set up budget hotel in Sanand

Hospitality services provider Kannelite Facility Management Services Private Limited on Monday said that it plans to set up a budget hotel with a centralized kitchen having capacity to cater 10,000 meals per day and service apartments at Sanand on the outskirts of Ahmedabad by 2016.

Krishna Pillai, vice-president (operations), Kannelite Facility Management Services Pvt. Ltd, said, “We have zeroed in on Sanand, which is emerging as a industrial hub, to set up a three-star hotel and centralised kitchen along with service apartments. Negotiations are already on discussion with some leading brands of hotel chains for the hotel project, whereas through the centralized kitchen, we want to target working employees of different companies located around the town. This will provide them a quality meal option and the service apartments will be a cost-effective option for long stay of employees and guest of the various companies.”

Pillai said the land acquisition for the project is over and the hotel is expected to commence operations by 2016.

A senior official said that the company is also planning to set up a hotel at the Gujarat International Finance Tec City (GIFT City) in Gandhinagar and a field study was recently conducted to understand the prospects of the project over there.
