Karur Vysya Bank Q1 net up by 10.24 %, NPAs also rise

Bank's total income up by 3.83 % to Rs 1518.50 crore

Karur Vysya Bank on Friday reported a 10.24% growth in net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2015.

Profit came in Rs 134.58 crore, compared to Rs 122.07 crore in the same period last fiscal, while total income rose to Rs 1518.50 crore from Rs 1462.44 crore, an increase of 3.83%.

Net non-performing assets (NPA) increased to 0.88% of total loans during the quarter, up from 0.78% during the quarter ended March 31, 2015, and more than a third of a percent from 0.53% in the year-ago period.

Gross NPA rose to 1.91%, or Rs 713.07 crore, from 1.30% a year ago, or Rs 450.96 crore.
