Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (Kassia), an apex trade cha-mber for small industries in the state has signed a memorandum of understanding with the India-China Chamber of Commerce and Industry today to facilitate trade ties between the two countries.
The MoU provides for joint ventures in both the countries, consultancy services, exchange visits between the two countries, information exchange on international fairs, exhibitions, and exchange of publications by both the organisations.
The MoU is valid for three years with option for renewal thereafter, a Kassia press release said.
Kassia President M C Dinesh and Jenny Zeliang, additional director, ICCCI and P N Ramachandran, ED, ICCCI signed the MoU.
ICCCI is linked to the China Council for promotion of international trade through its network and services. It has entered into agreement of cooperation with a number of such bodies and with reciprocal response in all the cases.
Kassia and ICCCI have been having contact for the last few years which has got intensified recently, thanks to the increased flow of trade between the two countries.
The MoU contains 10 clauses providing for exchange of publications by both the institutions, joint ventures, information building on international fairs, exhibitions and other economic activities to be held in China and India and close rapport in the growth and spread of the SME sector for mutual improvement on trade promotion, the release added.
