Konica Minolta Business Solutions, a Japan-based advanced imaging and networking technologies firm, is expecting its revenue in India to grow to Rs 300 crore by the end of this fiscal.

As part of its expansion to cater to the small office/home office (SOHO) and small and medium business (SMB) customers, has launched a laser multi-functional printer in the A4 printer family.

Speaking about the company’s operations in India, Tadhahiko Sumitani, managing director of Konica Minolta Business Solutions India, said: “We posted a revenue of Rs 228 crore last year and the year ending this month we are expecting Rs 300 crore revenue.”

The company sees a growth of 30 per cent for the industry in a year and expecting its revenues to touch Rs 500 crore in 2-3 years, said the company’s officials.

Konica is importing the machines from China and some of the spare parts from Japan. While there are no plans as such to set up a facility in India at present, it is looking at a China plus one strategy for its manufacturing facility, similar to various other Japanese firms which have their facilities in China.

It is currently selling around 20,000 units per annum in India and the volumes do not support the prospects of setting up a manufacturing unit for the country’s market at present, they said.
