"It has been a productive beginning to the new year and these orders reaffirm our leadership position in our various business verticals," S N Subrahmanyan, Senior Executive Vice President (Infrastructure and Construction), L&T said in a statement.
The water and renewable energy business segment got the highest order at Rs 2,019 crore from Gujarat, Karnataka and West Bengal.

Heavy Civil Infrastructure Business got new orders worth Rs 739 crore from National Highways Authority of India, Department of Atomic Energy.
"Although there is still sluggishness in our economy, these orders reflect that there is some positive movement in the infrastructure sector which augurs well for both the country and L&T going forward," Subrahmanyan said.
