L&T wins Rs 844 cr order from NPCIL

Larsen & Toubro’s (L&T) Infrastructure Operating Company – a part of its Construction Division (ECC), has secured a Rs. 844 crore from Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) for construction of the main plant civil works of reactor 3&4 at Kakrapar Atomic Power Project, Tapi (Gujarat).

This is the country’s first 700 MW Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR) plant being indigenously developed by NPCIL, L&T said in a statement.

The scope of work involves construction of reactor building, auxiliary buildings, waste management and exhaust ventilation building, heavy water upgrading plant, fabrication & erection of structural steel works involving civil, structural and architectural works. The project is to be completed in 49 months.
