Mahindra Powerol launches high power diesel gensets in Ahmedabad

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(M&M), the tractor and utility vehicle major in India, today entered the Ahmedabad market with its high power diesel generator sets segment. M&M engines which would be available under the brand name Mahindra Powerol are powering diesel generating (DG) sets up to a rating from 5kVA of 140 kVA.

Mahindra Powerol DG sets, which are also available in 45 retail showrooms across different cities in India, launched the first exclusive showroom for DG sets in the city today. With unique features like electronic governing, robust engines, compact size, low vibration and fuel efficient, the sets are available at a cost ranging from Rs 1.5 to Rs 2.5 lakh.

“This is a unique concept as usually showrooms are launched for consumer goods. We already have two showrooms in Gujarat at Rajkot and Vapi each and plan to launch one each at Baroda and Gandhidham in the next 3-4 months’ time,” said Jayesh Bhat, DGM West Sales, Mahindra Powerol.

The company is one of the largest manufacturers diesel gensets in its range, with the gensets being manufactured at two state-of-the-art factories located at Pune and Delhi with combined manufacturing capacity of over 30,000 sets per annum.

The company entered the field of power generation with the launch of higher rating generator sets for the Indian market in year 2001.

The enhanced range of popular nodes for 82.5kVA, 100kVA & 140kVA caters to a wide range of segments like captive power units, hospitality industry, IT parks, commercial complexes, retail outlets, infrastructure sectors, to name a few.
