FMCG firm Marico today reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 84.11 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2011.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 69.52 crore in the corresponding period of previous fiscal, Marico said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
"There are certain items included in financials of Q3 FY12 and Q3 FY11 that make the results of these two quarters non comparable," it added.
Net sales of the company rose to Rs 1,057.81 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2011. It stood at Rs 817.73 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
On a standalone basis, the company posted a net profit of Rs 87.36 crore for the third quarter. It stood at Rs 56.29 crore in the same period previous financial year.
Shares of Marico today closed at Rs 153.40 on the BSE, up 2.47% from its previous close.
