Led by record export sales, Maruti Suzuki has posted 24.10 per cent growth in total sales at 79,190 units for the month of February 2009, as compared to 63,822 units recorded in the same period a year ago.
The company also reported its highest ever export sales in February, which stood at 8,565 units, up 89.9 per cent from 4,511 units recorded in the corresponding period last year. The previous highest export sales were recorded in March 2004 when the company exported 8,282 units.
Similarly, for the two consecutive months, the company reported record monthly sales in the domestic market, which stood at 70,625 units, up 19.1 per cent as compared to 59,030 units in the same period last year. The previous highest figures were recorded last month when the company sold 67,005 units.
