The company is estimated to have lost production of 10,000 vehicles after it was forced to shut operations at both plants on Monday afternoon. The supply of AC units for cars was impacted due to a fire accident at the Manesar unit of auto component-maker Subros.
The production loss will impact the company’s sales performance for May.
A statement from Maruti said certain operations in the Manesar campus, including casting and manufacture of transmissions, will also resume in the second half on Wednesday.
Subros and Maruti are jointly working on options to obtain supply of components from other facilities to bring operations back to normal.
