Kenichi Ayukawa, managing director and chief executive of the company, said, “The S-Cross will hit the roads before the commercial production of sports utility vehicle XA Alpha. But we cannot share the exact timing of the launch.”
Sources said the SX4 S-Cross was likely to go on sale next year.
All new models introduced by Maruti Suzuki will also be manufactured in left-hand drive (LHD) versions. Ayukawa said, “We want to expand the scope of exports out of India. Suzuki has entrusted Maruti Suzuki with the responsibility of producing and selling vehicles in Africa, West Asia and some markets in Southeast Asia.”
