Maxx Mobilink plans to achieve 10-12% market share in three years

Plans to commence manufacturing of mobile handsets from April 2015

Home-made mobile and accessories' manufacturer Maxx Moblink Private Limited on Tuesday said that it plans to commence domestic manufacturing of handsets by April this year and aims to achieve 10-12 per cent market share in the next three years.  

"We are into manufacturing of mobile accessories since 2004 at our plant in Haridwar in Uttarakhand. We plan to commence manufacturing of mobile handsets from April 2015. Our current market share in feature phones and smart phones category is half to one per cent. We aim to increase it to 10-12 per cent market share in the next three years," said, Ajjay Agarwal, chairman and managing director, Maxx Moblink Pvt. Ltd.

The plant would have the capacity to manufacture 100,000 pieces per day, said Agarwal, who was in the city to launch an exclusive smartcare center. In all, the company is launching 15 exclusive smartcare centres across the country.

The company, which has invested Rs 500 crore in the plant, aims to achieve turnover of Rs 1500 crore in 2015-16.

"The turnover for 2013-14 was Rs 635 crore, which is expected to touch Rs 660 crore in 2014-15. We aim to take it to Rs 1,500 crore through sales of smartphones," Agarwal said.
