Sun Mulitipurpose Cooperative limited (SMCL), a cooperative body consisting of the families of the land losers has welcomed the recent move of the Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) to allow the linked consumers to lift coal on the their own through hywas and tippers.
This decision of MCL had drawn flak from the Truckers Association of Talcher (TAT) which felt that the move would deprive the truckers of their livelihood. MCL's move will help the families of the land losers and the project affected families to help earn livelihood.
