"Mercedes-Benz believes in introducing the latest products and variants in the market at regular intervals, to keep customer interest and curiosity intact in the brand. This strategy, we firmly believe, has contributed to our unmatched success in India," said Roland Folger, managing director and chief executive of Mercedes-Benz India.
Mercedes-Benz India has registered a 32 per cent year-on-year growth by selling 13,502 units in the January-December 2015 period.
"With the launch of the S400, we further extend the S-Class model range and also bolster our strong presence in the S-Class segment," Folger added.
Stating that the S400 will be locally manufactured at the company's production facility at Chakan in Pune, he said this was yet another firm affirmation of their vision of Make in India.
