Mohit Kamboj has been re-elected as president of India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) for a five-year term ending in 2021.
At a meeting of governing board held here recently, Kamboj was elected unopposed due to his appreciable work during his previous tenure as IBJA president.
IBJA has also introduced representatives of various segments including bullion merchant, diamond, logistic, non-banking finance companies (NBFC), retailers, manufacturers, Nominated agencies etc.
It has also announced formation of the World Silver Council to put in place uniform purity standard for silver. It has tied up with BSE to start a Bullion Exchange.
Along with that, the jewellers' body has also started Skill Development initiative and various other CSR (corporate social responsibility) activities simultaneously.
IBJA is all set to expand its membership base with opening up of representative offices in the Middle East, United Kingdom and Africa.
