The bids would close on July 29 and the decision on the tender would be taken by August 11, Nafed said on its website.
The cooperative plans to source Canadian pulse grown in 2008 season and said the bidder should quote vessel wise, indicating separate prices for single and two port discharge.
The bidder should deliver 50,000 tonne of pulses every month at different ports in eastern and western coasts of the country, starting from September to latest by December 15, it said.
The country's pulses production is estimated to be at 15.11 million tonne in 2007-08 crop year against the demand of 17-18 million tonne.
In order to meet the demand-supply gap, the government plans to import 15 lakh tonne of pulses this year through public sector trading firms MMTC, PEC, STC and cooperative major NAFED.
