Nakoda Textile Industries, the manufacturer and trader of partially oriented yarn, polyester texturised yarn, polyester filament yarn, has finalised plans for substantial expansion in its texutrising capacity from existing level of 1070 MTPA to 28,800 MTPA.

The aforesaid expansion is being implemented at a Textile Park of which NTIL is the main sponsor.

Without divulging investment details on the proposed expansion, the company informed the BSE on Friday that the texturising plant was expected to be fully operational by September, 2009.

The company is engaged in the manufacture of POY, FDY and texturised yarn at present and already ranks among the largest manufacturers of FDY with an installed capacity of 19,500 MTPA.

FDY is a high value added product which is used directly by weavers or knitters without intermediate processing. Similarly, texturised yarn is a high value added product meant for weavers and knitters.

On completion of the texturising capacity, the company would be able to use almost entire capacity of its existing POY plant for captive purpose.

During May 2009, the company booked orders of FDY year for 1850 tonnes amounting to approximately Rs 16.65 crore. This represents order book position for more than a month’s production capacity of company’s FDY plant. FDY yarn is well received by the market.

The company achieved the turnover of Rs 800 crore for the financial year ended December 31, 2008 and expects to approach Rs 1000 crore mark during the current year.
