Nazara Technologies, a mobile gaming firm, has entered into a strategic relationship with EA Mobile, a division of Nasdaq listed Electronic Arts, to bring the EA Mobile catalog of brands to over 600 million Indian mobile phone consumers. Through this tie-up, Nazara is also eying revenues to the tune of Rs 100 crore over the next two years.
The agreement gives Nazara exclusive rights to distribute the EA Mobile catalog on all carriers, third party channels, aggregators, retail channels and local OEMs in India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
“We see huge potential to grow the overall mobile gaming business while providing maximum value to the end consumers. Also, with the advent of 3G in a bigger way later this year, we feel that the EA Mobile catalog of games will put mobile gaming at the forefront of 3G content consumption allowing carriers and local OEMs to differentiate their proposition for these new services,” said Nitish Mittersain, Chief Executive Officer, Nazara.
The tie-up is aimed at opening new channels that cater to the fast growing population of mobile gamers with innovative and exciting games brought to their handsets. Nazara and EA Mobile will work jointly in growing the casual game genre through accessibility and great game play experiences.
