Neyveli Lignite FY11 net rises 4% to Rs 1,298 cr

State-run miner and power utility Neyveli Lignite Corporation (NLC) today reported a 4% rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,298 crore for the year ended March 31, 2011.

The navratna firm achieved a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,247 crore in 2009-10, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The consolidated income from operations of NLC, however, came down by 4% to Rs 3,949 crore in FY11, over Rs 4,121 crore in FY10, it added.

The company's board of directors has recommended a dividend of Rs 2.30 per share for FY11, subject to the approval of shareholders.
