Nielsen appoints Adarkar as VP of BASES division

Global information and media firm The Nielsen Company has appointed Amit Adarkar as Vice- President of its BASES division.

In Adarkar's new role he will report to Nielsen BASES's Executive Director of consumer research, South Asia, Prasun Basu, the company said in a statement issued here today.

Adarkar who has 17 years of experience in research spanning from FMCG, services and high-end manufacturing industries would provide leadership to the Nielsen BASES India and South Africa businesses.

He would also play an important regional role for Unilever and manage its large hubs in Mumbai and Johannesburg, it added.

Prior to joining Nielsen, he was serving as the Managing Director of Market Probe's operations in India and Middle East.

Nielsen BASES System assists clients to estimate likely future sales volume of initiatives, identify the key drivers, and then improve the volume and profit potential, all prior to market entry.
