NMDC net up 42% at Rs 1,963 cr

Public sector mining major NMDC Limited reported a 42.4 per cent jump in net profit to Rs 1,963.15 crore for the quarter ended September 30, 2011, as compared with Rs 1,378.53 crore in the corresponding quarter last year on the back of higher sales revenue, stable costs and a steep rise in other income.

Net sales grew 24.49 per cent to Rs 3062.32 crore for the quarter from Rs 2,459.98 crore. A marginal 1.53 per cent increase in expenditure, which stood at Rs 659.35 crore compared with Rs 649.37 crore in the second quarter a year ago and doubling of other income to Rs 502.94 crore.
