ONGC adds 30-MMT of oil via redevelopment in Mumbai High

Oil exploration and production major ONGC has added more than 30-million metric tonnes (MMT) of oil till October to its basket through the ongoing redevelopment activities in Mumbai High.

"The incremental increase in our production through redevelopment activities in Mumbai High North and South projects is 30.63 MMT till October this year," a company spokesperson told PTI.

"The total incremental production from Mumbai High North Redevelopment project is 11.71-MMT while from Mumbai High South Redevelopment project, it is 18.92-MMT," the spokesperson said.

Phase 1 of Mumbai High North has added 11.14-MMT against the feasibility report (FR) target (revised) of 10.07-MMT.

"Phase 2 is under implementation and by the end of this September, 12 new wells against the 17 planned have been drilled. As on October 1, incremental oil is 0.57-MMT as against the FR target of 0.85-MMT," the spokesperson said.

The company has spent Rs 478.72-crore in the Phase-2 North project so far, the spokesperson said.

The project completion schedule including drilling is September 2012 and the cost estimate for the project is Rs 7,133.39-crore. The scheme envisages incremental oil gain of 17.354-MMt and 2.987 BCM gas by 2030 through drilling of 73 new wells and 38 sidetrack wells, the spokesperson said.

The phase 1 of the Mumbai High South has added 17.43-MMT against the FR target (revised) of 17.04-MMT.

"The Phase 2 South project has produced 1.49-MMT incremental oil against the FR target of 1.93-MMT. The revised cost estimate for the project is Rs 8,813.41-crore with the revised completion date as March 2013," the spokesperson said.

The company has spent Rs 3,707.93-crore so far in the South Phase-2 Project.

Three new well head platforms RS-15, 16 and 17 have been installed in the last four months and six new wells put on production under Phase II of the Mumbai High South Redevelopment.

"Production from three wells connected to RS-15 is currently 2,035 barrels of oil per day (BOPD) and three wells hooked up with RS-16 are currently producing 1,638 BOPD of oil.

Drilling is in progress for other wells and would be put on production as per schedule. Phase II of Mumbai High South Redevelopment envisages an incremental oil gain of 18.31-MMt and 2.70 BCM gas by 2030," the spokesperson said.
