Orient Paper & Industries today posted 73.4% increase in net profit to Rs 59.37 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2011.
The Bhubaneswar-based company had a net profit of Rs 34.24 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2010, Orient Paper & Industries said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
During the quarter under review, the company had a net sales of Rs 533.93 crore, a 20.9% increase from Rs 441.59 crore posted in the year-ago period.
For the year ended March 31, 2010, the firm had a net profit of Rs 143.10 crore while it had a net sales of Rs 1958.97 crore.
Shares of Orient Paper & Industries were trading at Rs 62.60 on the BSE, down 2.26% from the previous close.
