Parrys Sugar Q4 net profit at Rs 17.35 cr

Parrys Sugar Industries today reported a standalone net profit of Rs 17.35 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31.

The Chennai-based company had posted a net loss of Rs 41.90 crore in the same quarter last year.

Total income fell Rs 45.08 crore in the fourth quarter of the 2012-13 fiscal from Rs 53.81 crore in the year-ago period, Parrys Sugar said in a BSE filing.

Much of the revenue was generated from sugar sales which stood at Rs 42.98 crore in the review period, while the business from co-generation and distillery remained very low.

The company's manufacturing facilities are located in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
