Biofuels technology company Praj Industries posted a standalone net profit worth Rs 47.31 crore during the quarter ended December 31, 2008, which reflects a growth of 19.92 per cent over net profit of Rs 39.45 crore recorded during the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.
The company's standalone revenues grew to Rs 210.05 crore during the quarter, a jump of 16.54 per cent over Rs 180.23 crore posted in the October-December quarter of the previous fiscal, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchnage (BSE).
The earnings per share (EPS) during the quarter also increased to Rs 2.55 from Rs 2.13 posted during the corresponding quarter last year.
Commenting on the results, Praj Industries CEO and Managing Director Shashank Inamdar said: "We have posted strong results despite of a tough scenario. The order book today stands at Rs 800 crore. We are constantly scanning opportunities as well as challenges and factoring them into our business plan."
