Prism Cement net up 114% to Rs 24.39 cr

Prism Cement reported 114 per cent increase in net profits to Rs 24.39 crore for the quarter ended March 2006 compared with Rs 11.35 crore recorded in the corresponding period last year.

The company's net sales was up 63 per cent to Rs 167.1 crore as against Rs 102.5 crore in the year-ago period. The Hyderbad-based company's gross profit rose 94 per cent to Rs 45.2 crore from Rs 23.2 crore last year.

The company's total income was up by almost 63 per cent at Rs 167.4 crore as against Rs 102.47 crore last year.

Operating profit was up 87 per cent to Rs 51.92 crore for the quarter from Rs 27.75 crore in the same period last year. EPS doubled to Rs 0.82 from Rs 0.38 over the same period.
