QuEST Global, a diversified product development and engineering services services on Wednesday said two of its group companies -- QuEST Global Manufacturing and QuEST Global SEZ -- are being rebranded as Aequs. The company said the new identity would help in bringing sharper focus on manufacturing.

QuEST initially started as an outsourced engineering services provider in 1997, and subsequently forayed into allied areas. QuEST Global Manufacturing, now to be known as Aequs, was started in 2006 as part of QuEST Global to focus on manufacturing opportunities. QuEST Global SEZ (now Aequs SEZ) was started in 2009 as a notified precision engineering SEZ.

"QuEST Global covered three lines of business -- engineering services, manufacturing, and SEZ. As the manufacturing business and the related SEZ business grew, it became clear that manufacturing has a culture that is distinctly different from engineering services. The new Aequs brand and identity for the manufacturing business recognises this distinction and enables both businesses to grow to their full potential," said Aravind Melligeri, Chairman & CEO, Aequs.

Aequs currently has over 600 employees spread across Bangalore, Belgaum, and Houston. The company has joint venture partnerships with Magellan Aerospace of Canada, Setforge and Aubert & Duval of France, and Saab Ab. of Sweden.
