R S Sharma who was working as director (commercial) in NTPC since October 2004 has 37-year experience in the power sector behind him.
He played an important role in the preparation of guidelines for setting up power exchange in India. He has also looked after work of corporate planning.
A mechanical engineering graduate from Government Engineering College, Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, Sharma started his career in Madhya Pradesh State Electricity Board. He joined NTPC in February 1980 at the Korba Super Thermal Power Station.
