Rajoo Bausano develops India's widest PVC pipe making machine

Rajoo Bausano, a joint venture between Rajkot-based Rajoo Engineers Limited and Italy's Bausano and Figli SPA, has developed a machine that can manufacture 500 mm diameter PVC pipes.

Company will export it to the South Africa soon.
 
“We have manufactured PVC pipe manufacturing machine which can produce PVC pipe with 500 mm diameter. This is happening for first time in India that a machine for manufacture of plastic pipe with such diameter has been made in India. We have received order from South African company last year and finally Rajoo Bausano has completed the work in mid February”, said Khushboo Doshi, director, Rajoo Engineers Limited.

According to the company, the cost of the machine was around Rs 7 crore. The machine is fully automatic and its output capacity is 1000 kg per hour.

Utsav Doshi, director of Rajoo Bausano said, “Pipes with big diameter is generally used in irrigation, drainage and for sewage treatment plants in western country. Till date only cement pipes are used in India for these purpose. Big diameter plastic pipes are safe and its cost is almost 70% less compared to cement pipe.”

Rajoo Engineers is also going to launch flat pipe manufacturing unit for drip irrigation line by May this year. According to the company, flat pipe for drip irrigation can reduced the cost by about 40%.

To produce advance technology pipe manufacturing machines company has joined hand with Italy based company ‘Bausano’ and form new company named Rajoo Bausano Extusion Pvt Ltd in 2010. Rajoo Engineers Limited has 49 percent share in the joint venture and Italian company has 51% share. Under this JV, Italian company provides technology and Rajoo Engineers produce the machine and market it.
