State-run Rural Electrification Corporation today said its net profit increased by nearly 13% year-on-year to Rs 661.96 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011.
The company had reported a net profit of Rs 587.36 crore for the June quarter of the previous fiscal, Rural Electrification Corporation said in a regulatory filing.
Total income of the company increased to Rs 2,372.88 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2011, from Rs 1,928.77 crore a year ago, the filing added.
Shares of the company were trading at Rs 193.20, up nearly 3%, on the Bombay Stock Exchange today. Over 4.60 lakh shares of the company changed hands on the bourse today.
