Reliance Power nominates Yogendra Narain on board of Sasan Power

Reliance Power Ltd (RPL), a Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) company, has nominated its Independent Director Yogendra Narain on the board of Sasan Power Ltd, its wholly owned subsidiary.

Sasan Power is developing the 4,000 Megawatt (Mw) Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP) in Madhya Pradesh. RPL had recently approached the Central Electricity regulatory Commission (CERC) asking for a revision in the tariff for the UMPP.

Narain is a retired officer of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). He has served as Principal Secretary in the Power and Irrigation department in Uttar Pradesh and also as Principal Secretary to the Governor in that state. He has also served as Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh and Secretary in the Ministry of Defence.

He is also the founder-Chairman of the Greater NOIDA Industrial Development Authority and the founder-Chairman of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
