The first unit of the 3,960-Mw Sasan UMPP in Madhya Pradesh was commissioned on March 30, the company said in a statement.
Power generated from the project would be sold to 14 distribution companies across seven states.

According to the company, coal production has commenced from the Moher and Moher-Amlohri coal mines. The Chhatrasal coal block has also received forest clearance and is under development.
