Sahara One Media and Entertainment today announced a 73.58 per cent decrease in its net profit at Rs 2.14 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2010.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 8.10 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, Sahara One Media and Entertainment said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The net sales of the company during the first quarter also dropped by 34.91 per cent to Rs 31.57 crore as against Rs 48.50 crore during the same period last fiscal, it added.
The company's television segment contributed Rs 24.19 crore, the highest among all other segments.
The motion picture segment's turnover stood at Rs 7.38 crore, the filing said.
