SAIL Jul-Sep steel sales at 3.1 million tonne, up 14% on year

September sales at 1.062 million tonne, up 16% y-o-y

Steel Authority of India Ltd sold 3.1 million tonne of steel during Jul-Sep, up 14% from same period last year, the company said in a release today.

 

Of the total quantity sold during the quarter, 130,000 tonne of steel was sold overseas, said SAIL.

 

In September, sales of the company stood at 1.062 mln tonne, up 16% from same period last year, it said.

 

Chairman C.S. Verma expressed confidence that the growth trend in sales and exports would continue in the coming months.

 

During Apr-Sep, the company clocked the highest ever saleable steel production of 6.5 mln tonne, registering a growth of 4% year-on-year.
