Hyderabad-based confectioner Sampre Nutritions Limited is planning to invest Rs 9 crore for expansion. “The investment will be for the expansion of our manufacturing facility (near Hyderabad), and for domestic and international marketing,” BK Gurbani, chairman of Sampre Nutritions Limited, told mediapersons on Wednesday.
The confectionery market in India is currently pegged at Rs 6,000 crore, which includes the Rs 2,000-crore organised sector.
Besides manufacturing own products, Sampre manufactures products for companies like Kraft (Cadbury’s India), Dr Morepen Laboratories and Dabur India, Himalaya Drug Company and Indian Airlines. It has recently received the International Quality Award at the International Quality Summit held in New York.
