A consortium of Samsung Engineering and Linde has bagged $1.5 billion contract from ONGC Petro addition (OPaL) for the construction of a dual feed ethylene cracker unit and associated units plant.
The plant will be constructed to produce 11,00,000 tonne of ethylene and 3,40,000 tonne of propylene per year. The project will be located in the special economic zone notified area in Dahej, Gujarat.
Samsung Engineering's order in the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning contract is worth $1 billion, while Linde will impliment the $500 million worth order. Naptha and gas are the dual-feed of the ethylene project.
OPaL is the SPV formed by the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC), together promoting global sized mega petrochemical project in Dahej.
