The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed former Indian cricketer Sandeep Patil as the chairman of the national selection committee, replacing Kris Srikkanth. Also, Mohinder Amarnath has been dropped just after serving a year in the committee.
The new selection committee was announced after the 83rd annual general meeting (AGM) today at the Cricket Centre here.
The AGM also decided to raise a selector’s annual remuneration from Rs 40 lakh to Rs 60 lakh, while for the junior selectors it has been raised from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 40 lakh.
The other members of the selection committee are Vikram Rathore (north zone), Saba Karim (east zone), Roger Binny (south zone) and Rajinder Singh Hans (central zone), while BCCI Secretary Sanjay Jagdale will be convenor. chandrakant Pandit has been named chairman of the junior selection committee.
