So far, 3,300 Mw (five 660-Mw units) of the project was operating and had been performing well, the company said in a statement. The entire capacity of the project has now been constructed and the project is nearing completion.
The Sasan UMPP is the largest integrated power plant and coal mining project in the world. Production from the 20-million-tonne-per-annum Moher and Moher-Amlohri coal mines associated with the power project has already begun.
