Congress is planning to add a glamour quotient in the capital's electoral scene by roping in Bollywood superstar and party 'sympathiser' Shahrukh Khan to campaign for its candidates.
This will be besides its star campaigners party chief Sonia Gandhi, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi.
"Obviously, we will request Shahrukh to campaign for our candidates in the capital," Oscar Fernandes, AICC in-charge for Delhi, told PTI.
He was responding to a question whether the Congress will bring 'King Khan', who hails from the capital, for campaigning.
Khan and another Bollywood star Preity Zinta are expected to campaign for Minister of State for Home Affairs Sriprakash Jaiswal, the Congress candidate from Kanpur.
"People like Bollywood stars to campaign. There are a number of actors who are our sympathisers. We will utilise their services," Fernandes said without naming other actors who may join the campaigning for the party in the capital.
Asked whether the BJP was playing the 'Hindu card' in the elections, he said it was "nothing new" and accused the saffron party of indulging in "negative politics".
