Sudarshan Venu appointed as vice president of TVS Motor

TVS Motor Company Ltd today received approval from the shareholders to appoint Sudarshan Venu, son of the company's chairman and managing director Venu Srinivasan, as the vice president, effective from December 1, 2011. In September 2011, he was appointed as additional director of Sundaram-Clayton Limited (SCL), a holding company of TVS Motor and is currently a director of SCL.

Sudarshan is an honors graduate from Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology, University of Pennsylvania, US. He also obtained a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering from the School of Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Economics, both from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Recently, he completed Master of Science in International Technology Management from the Warwick Manufacturing Group attached to University of Warwick in UK.

The board of directors, at the meeting held on December 1, 2011, has approved the appointment of Sudarshan Venu as vice-president of the company effective from the date, on such terms and conditions that are applicble to the similarly placed executives of the company and subject to the approval of the share holders in the annual general meeting.
