Public sector lender Syndicate Bank today reported a jump of 24.52 per cent in its net profit at Rs 256.19 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2010.
It had a net profit of Rs 205.74 crore during the same period of last fiscal, Syndicate Bank said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The bank also reported an increase of 17.93 per cent in its total income for the third quarter at Rs 3,156.84 crore as against Rs 2,676.95 crore in the year-ago period.
Syndicate Bank's net non-performing assets (NPAs) stood at 0.95 per cent at the end of the third quarter, down from 1.02 per cent in the corresponding quarter of 2009-10.
Its gross NPAs stood at 2.32 per cent during the quarter under review as against 2.43 per cent in the same period of last year.
