Tata Group veteran Mukund Rajan has been appointed the brand custodian and group spokesperson, the company announced today. Rajan will oversee and manage all corporate communications and brand-related activities for the group in India and abroad. Rajan is the first appointee to the post.

Additionally, he will serve as the chief ethics officer of the group and also oversee all Tata Group corporate social responsibility activities as chairman of the Tata Council for Community Initiatives (TCCI). His appointment is with immediate effect and in his new role he will report directly to the group chairman, Cyrus Mistry, the company said.

Rajan has been in the group for over 18 years and in his last assignment was the head of private equity advisory at Tata Capital and managing partner of the advisory team of the Tata Opportunities Fund.
