The Andhra Pradesh Trade Promotion Corporation Limited (APTPC), in collaboration with the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), the trade promotion agency of the commerce and industry ministry, will set up a trade fair centre (TFC) in Hyderabad by 2012. This will be the fourth TFC in the country after Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai.
The Hyderabad centre, to come up on 50 acre with an investment of Rs 200 crore, will promote state-specific commodities, especially pearls and the pharma industry. “ITPO is planning to diversify into various states, and hence we are in the process of creating infrastructure to promote trade and commerce in Andhra Pradesh,” said Vinay Pandey, general manager of APTPC.
