TÜV Rheinland, a Euro 1.4 billion global independent inspection services provider, has announced the opening of its new laboratory in Gurgaon. The lab is set up at an initial investment of 1.9 million Euros. Another 1.5 million euros are being invested in two additional softlines laboratories at Bangalore and Tirupur in the near future, the company said.

Manfred Bayerlein, CEO, TÜV Rheinland said, “The huge Indian market for product testing is a very important market for TÜV Rheinland. This is why we have invested in four laboratories in this region alone, with a laboratory in Bangladesh operational since last year and three new ones this year in India.”

TÜV Rheinland inspects technical equipment, products and services, oversees projects and helps to shape processes for companies. Its experts train people in a wide range of careers and industries. The company has created a global network of approved labs, testing and education centres. Since 2006, TÜV Rheinland has been a member of the United Nations Global Compact to promote sustainability and combat corruption.

The softlines laboratory network of TÜV Rheinland now comprises testing facilities in nine countries, offering customers the benefit of one-stop testing for global markets.

TÜV Rheinland started its Indian operations in 1996. From 23 offices, 400 employees cater to the domestic market, to Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, and the Maldives Islands.

TÜV Rheinland intends to provide high-quality services to meet customers’ needs and requirements, with an aim of becoming a leading product testing service provider in the region.
