UBS today said it has appointed Rahul Bhat as head of its international corporate banking business in India.
He will report to Aashish Kamat, chief executive of UBS in India.
Prior to this appointment Bhat has worked with financial institutions like Kotak Institutional Securities, Nomura in India and Goldman Sachs in the USA. He has over 17 years of experience and is known in the banking circle for his strong relationships with clients both at a professional and personal level.
At UBS, Bhat will be responsible for expanding the Swiss bank's corporate banking footprint in India.
"We believe his recruitment is a clear indication of UBS' commitment to continue to invest in India and to the bank's efforts to grow its international corporate and transaction banking business – a key focus area for the UBS Group in the region as our clients demand it," the bank said in a statement.
