Ultratech Cement's despatches up 2% in June

UltraTech Cement, a division of the Aditya Birla Group, today reported an increase of 2% in its despatches for June at 3.22 million metric tonne, as against despatches of 3.15 million metric tonne during the same month last year.

In June, the company also registered a growth of 1.9% in cement production at 3.21 million metric tonne, up from 3.15 million metric tonne in the corresponding period last year, UltraTech Cement said in a statement issued here.

UltraTech Cement's cumulative despatches during the April-June period of this year stood at 9.66 million metric tonne as against 9.89 million metric tonne during the first three months of 2010, registering a decline of 2.31%.

During the first quarter of FY12, the company's cement production was 9.70 million metric tonne, down 2.67% from the figure of 9.97 million metric tonne in the corresponding period of last year.
