The expansion announcement comes on the back of Uninor acquiring an additional 1.4 MHz of spectrum in AP in the 1,800 MHz band. The total spectrum for AP with this addition will be 6.4 MHz. Uninor today serves over 4.5 million subscribers across AP, the company stated in a press release.
According to Uninor’s circle business head Satish Kannan, the company has been focusing on pre-paid subscriptions, which is mass market, and 99 per cent of the customers are prepaid subscribers.
