Union Bank of India has posted a rise of 93.7 per cent in its net profit for the quarter ended June 30 at Rs 442.19 crore compared with Rs 228.29 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The bank's total income for the quarter stood at Rs 3704 crore against Rs 2754.88 crore last year, up 34.45 per cent.
The operating profit of the bank in the June quarter was Rs 787.49 crore which grew by 27.84 per cent compared with Rs 616.01 crore in the previous corresponding quarter. The earning per share stood at Rs 8.75 against Rs 4.52 last year.
On the Bombay Stock Exchange, the bank's share prices were trading at Rs 249, down 3.82 per cent at 1156 IST.
