The value of investments made by venture capital firms in the country during the past few years is up, with some of the firms claiming internal rates of return of up to 40 per cent.
ChrysCapital, with investments of $65 million in India, says it is in a position to deliver an internal rate of return of 25 per cent. The fund recently offloaded its holding in Spectramind, acquired for $10 million, to Wipro, for $63.8 million. The other investments of ChrysCapital include Fabmart, Bazee.com, Jobsahead.com and Egurucool.com.
A Chicago-based venture capital fund, which has invested in excess of $25 million in India over the past two-and-a-half years, says the internal rate of return on its investments is 40 per cent.
